The cowball rules
Cowball Rules: 2vs2 Format
Basic Structure
Teams: 2 players vs. 2 players. Only one player plays during the point while the other waits in the back of the court.
Game Win Condition: To win a game, your team must win three consecutive points.
Match Win Condition: The first team to win six games wins the match. If the score reaches 5-5, a team must win by a margin of two games. At 6-6, a deciding game is played.
Change ends when one team is at 3 games (and later at 6 games).
Match time limit: 25 minutes
Point Structure
Serve: Points begin with an underarm serve.
Serve Position: The serve must be initiated from anywhere behind the baseline, between hip and shoulder height. One foot may be on the tram lines.
Serving Rules:
One Serve Only: There is no second serve.
No-Let Rule: The serve is played regardless of whether it hits the net.
Serve Placement: Serve anywhere inside the singles lines.
Starting the Match
First Point: The first point begins with two shots played through the middle of the court. After that, the point is live.
Feeding: The team that wins the first point gets to feed the next serve.
Point Continuation
The team that loses a point may feed the next ball as soon as you see the point is over.
Feeding the ball too early costs you the point.
Timeout
Each team is allowed one timeout per match, lasting one minute.
To call a timeout, simply raise your arm and announce it. Use it wisely ;).
Additional Notes
No Warm-Ups: There are no warm-ups during match time. Get straight into the action!
Now step onto the court, claim your victory, and make sure every point counts!
